What school did you graduate from (undergraduate and optometry)?
Concordia College (Moorhead) 2012, NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry 2016

What are your hobbies?
Golf, Hockey, Outdoors (Hiking, Lakes)

Describe your local community involvement?
Aside from supporting the local Lions Club and Rotary Club, I am also the head coach of the Detroit Lakes Squirt A Boys Hockey team.

Tell us about your family and pets?
My wife (Amanda) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a passion for therapy and mental health. We have two children: 3-year-old boy (Grant) and 6-month-old girl (Sydney). We also have an English Springer Spaniel (Hailey).

Why do you choose to be a member of the Minnesota Optometric Association?
I think it is extremely important to protect, promote, and advance our profession. The MOA gives us all an opportunity to play our part in that effort.

What do you like best about the profession of optometry?
The connections and long-lasting relationships we are able to make with people whether they be patients, colleagues, or coworkers.

Describe your favorite memory from your optometric career.
I cannot say that there is a single moment. I love working and interacting with student externships and optometric residents. The ability to not only teach but learn from the future of our profession is incredibly rewarding.
