Vision is #1! There are countless opportunities to impact how people live and work, through vision.

Describe your favorite memory from your optometric career.
Since I've been working in neuro-rehab, there are many awe-inspiring moments. It's a powerful day, when you are told you've provided HOPE. One moment that still sets me back is a man who had experienced multiple brain injuries; his visual system was so extremely fragile that he couldn't tolerate anyone or anything being close to him. He had asked his wife to wait in the reception area during his assessment. He and I worked to find a more stable visual environment. With one lens/prism combination, he said, 'Go get my wife.' I wasn't sure what was to follow, but I went to get his wife from the waiting room. He asked her to come in close to him, so he could see her; she was within about 3' from his face. "Yeah?, she asked?" "YES!, he exclaimed." They just stayed in that space, in that quiet, powerful, emotional embrace. I felt like I was an intruder, but it was peaceful and perfect.

What fun fact would you like to share about yourselves that your colleagues may not know about you?
I'm completely neurotic about the type of pen I use and clutter makes me anxious!
