University of Arizona for undergraduate and Midwestern University – Arizona College of Optometry

What do you like to do when you're not working?
I enjoy gardening, fishing year round with my husband, and spending as much time with my kids because they’re growing up too quickly!

What leads you to continue serving your community as an optometrist?
Knowing that with each dilated exam, each refraction, each cataract surgery referral, etc. I’m helping someone to be able to continue to watch their grandkids grow, or maintain their independence by driving, or travel and see the world, or simply just to see a smile on a loved one’s face.

If you weren't an optometrist, what would you be?
A party planner with a speciality in holiday parties!

What drives you to continue your membership with the Minnesota Optometric Association?
There is no other group out there in the optometry profession that works harder to deliver quality education, tireless advocacy efforts, and a strong sense of community in a world of increasing isolation.

What cause means the most to you right now? Does not have to be optometry related, but can be.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with our legislators and fellow colleagues.

What fun fact would you like to share about yourself?
I once recited pi out to 120 places.
