Who are the speakers?

	Bobby “Chip” Wood Jr., OD, has been helping patients see their best for over 30 years with a perfect blend of expertise, compassion, and humor that makes every visit a little brighter. A proud Tar Heel and Houston Cougar, Dr. Wood earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1993. He is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, licensed in Texas since 2000. Dr. Wood serves as the Medical Director of both Wood Vision Source in San Antonio and Coyote Optical Vision Source in Uvalde. He also helps lead fellow independent optometrists as Administrator for Vision Source San Antonio, where he’s passionate about sharing knowledge and elevating patient care across the region.
	Jill Schultz, OD, FAAO, FOVDR, FNORA, is a Minnesota native. After her undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, she obtained a Doctorate of Optometry degree with honours from Pacific University College of Optometry. During her training, she developed a greater interest in children’s vision and strabismus, which led her to pursue a residency fellowship in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy from the Southern California College of Optometry. Her interests and experience include pediatric eye care, binocular vision, pediatric and adult strabismus, pediatric contact lens fitting, neurorehabilitative optometry and evaluation of those with special needs.
	Kathy Woods, OTR/L, CDRS, LDI, is the supervisor of Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute’s Driver Assessment and Training as well as Vocational Services. She is an Occupational Therapist, Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist and a MN state licensed driver instructor. Kathy had seven years of experience working in the vehicle modification industry before joining the team at CKRI in 2006. In addition to her role providing oversight and management of the day-to-day operations of the services, Kathy provides clinical testing, behind-the-wheel assessments and lessons. Kathy has given presentations at the local, state and national level on driver assessments and vehicle modifications. She is an active member of the Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED). She has served on certification committee and is currently on the Board of Directors and publications committee. Kathy has earned Autism and Inclusive Communication badges from ADED, which signifies a level of competency within this scope of practice of Driver Rehabilitation.
	Ron Melton, OD, is an optometrist who specializes in comprehensive eye exams and routine eye care in Charlotte, NC. His special interests include ocular disease/glaucoma as well as anterior segment conditions. He received his undergraduate degree from Greensboro College and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He also served as a captain in the US Army as a clinical optometrist at Hawley Army Hospital. He is an adjunct faculty member of the Indiana University School of Optometry and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Association, the Optometric Glaucoma Society, and the Piedmont Optometric Society.
	Randall Thomas, OD, is a 1981 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and a 1976 graduate of the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina.  He is in full-time clinical practice in Concord, North Carolina.  He was presented the “Glaucoma Educator of the Year” award by the American Academy of Optometry in 1997.  He and Dr. Ron Melton co-author Review of Optometry’s “Annual Drug Guide to Ophthalmic Drugs”, now in its sixteenth year. Dr. Thomas has lectured world-wide with Dr. Melton on the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

• During Early Bird period: $50 administrative fee
• After Early Bird through September 15: $75 administrative fee
• After September 15: no refunds

HOTEL & TRAVEL

How can I reserve a hotel room?

If you need hotel accommodation, please reserve a room online using this reservation link or contact the Omni Vikings Lake in Eagan at 651-689-9800 and ask for the Minnesota Optometric Association room block rate. The room block closes on September 9, 2026.

Valet parking is available. Self-parking is available for free.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Will CE be offered virtually?

No. All CE is live and in-person.

How many CE hours are provided?

14 total hours: 7 hours on Friday and 7 hours on Saturday. All courses qualify as Live CE for the Minnesota Board of Optometry and are reported to ARBO immediately through the OE Tracker app.

How do I receive my CE credits?

To receive CE credits instantly in OE Tracker, please bring a mobile phone with the OE Tracker app installed and logged in so you can scan after each class. If you are from out of state or require a paper certificate, notify Minnesota Optometric Association staff at the registration desk and then pick it up at the end of the day.

Will my CE hours appear in OE Tracker?

Yes. Minnesota requires CE to be reported to ARBO. Using the OE Tracker app ensures your hours upload immediately.

EXHIBITS & SCHEDULE

When is the exhibit hall open?

Friday, October 2, from 7:00 AM until the end of the afternoon break. A Friday registration is required to attend the exhibit hall.

ON-SITE DETAILS

What is the dress code?

We ask attendees to dress business casual.

When does check-in open?

The registration desk opens at 7:00 AM on both Friday and Saturday.

Do you have dietary restrictions?

You may submit dietary restrictions during registration, or email Holly@mneyedocs.org in advance so appropriate meals can be arranged.

Accessibility information:

• Classroom and exhibit hall are all on the first floor behind the check-in desk of the hotel.
• A mother's room is available; please notify Minnesota Optometric Association staff for a key and directions.

A Friday evening happy hour will follow CE sessions. Appetizers and drinks will be provided–we hope you join us!

HANDOUTS & COURSE MATERIAL

Handouts and course materials will be available through the Yapp App. A download link will be emailed to attendees before the meeting.

OTHER QUESTIONS

I’m from out of state; can I get a CE certificate?

Yes. Inform Minnesota Optometric Association staff at check-in so a certificate can be prepared for end-of-day pickup.
